Admission criteria and requirements

Admissions Procedures:

Thank you for your interest in Heritage British International School. HBIS Admissions Policies and Procedures will always be clearly communicated, as well as fairly applied. We select our students through a competitive Admissions process which enables us to choose highly motivated, skilled and talented students with diverse backgrounds.
Admissions Office operating hours are 8:00a.m. to 3:00p.m.

For new applications, hours are from 9:00a.m. to 2:00p.m.


(Admissions process will not proceed unless ALL below documents are submitted to the Admissions Office on the assessment day)
• A completed and signed application form
• One recent colored passport size photograph of the applicant
• Copy of electronic birth certificate (Egyptians only)
• A photocopy of the student’s passport (non-Egyptians only)
• A copy of both parents IDs/Passports
• Recent Behavioral Report from previous school/ Nursery
• Last academic end of year reports and the current year’s term report (FSII – Year 5)
• Nursery report for FSI applicants
• Vaccination report for Pre-K till Year 4
• Upon receipt of application, Admissions Office will schedule an assessment appointment and an initial parents’ interview.
• A family interview (including father, mother and child/children) will be scheduled as a second step of the assessment procedures.
• Finally, the Admissions Office will call the parents and an official email will be sent to them from the Admissions Office to inform parents of their child/children final status.
• In the event that the student is eligible to join HBIS, parents will be informed of further details regarding payments and documents required.

Admissions Dept. Policies:

• Admission to HBIS is based upon the student’s completed assessment with a standardized benchmark of 65% for Year 1 to 8 and from Years 9 to 12 will be 70%.
If the student/students in Years 1 through 8 score above 55% but less that 65%, the parent/parents will have to sign probation letter which clearly states that the school recommends Summer School Program for their child/children, which is usually held during the first 2 weeks of August.

• The letter also states that their child/children will be placed on Academic Probation throughout the first term of the upcoming academic year and will be placed in the Student Support Center during school days, unless his/her performance reaches the academic level required.
• Students applying for Foundation Stages will be assessed as per the child’s stage of development in relation to their chronological age by a member of the Early Years staff.
• At HBIS, we admit children according the following age range. By the 1st of October:

FSI: Age 3.6 by October 1st
FSII: Age 4.6 by October 1st

* Reference to the Educational Zone:
1. If the student/students withdraw before the beginning of the academic year, the school will have the right to deduct 10% from tuition fees.
2. If the student/students withdraw after the start of 1st term, the school will have the right to deduct 50% from tuition fees.
3. If the student/students withdraw after the start of 2nd term, the school will have the right to deduct 100% from tuition fees (No Refund will be made).

Final status with payment deadline (5 working days) emails are sent to parents on the same day of the family interview or the following day.
